It was in the upper 70’s when we got to the first of our new spots with high hopes .
We were met with a high north wind , blowing straight into us .
Not good .
I caught five tiny gills , my buddy caught 13 , before we gave up fighting the wind and moved to a spot where I was able to catch up with him , but they were still just little fellows .
We moved on to what became our last spot of the day , somewhat sheltered from the wind and the sun . Anytime we can fish with shade this time of the year , it’s a good thing .
I ended up with thirty , my bud with twenty seven.
About half the time we were in casting distance of each other .
I took four combos , but really only fished two , my 4’0” Major Craft Glass paired with a Daiwa Fuego 1000LT and a 5’ St Croix , older Panfish ULM , paired with a Shimano Soare bb500spg .
A black one inch curly tail for me , a white one inch curly tail for my bud .
Best of the day .
When you’re a bank fisherman and are restricted from certain areas , we take what we can get .
