Default Little rods & Little Fish

I took a couple of my short rods fishing this morning to lake McIntosh.
Overcast skies to begin with around 11:30 with partly sunning skies by the time I left just before two .
As the sun increased , the number of folks showed up at the lake . Parking lot was almost full , with several boats waiting to launch .
I took a couple St Croix rods, a 4’10” Trout series ULF with a Shimano Soare bb 500spg , and a 5’ Premier ULM with a Shimano Soare XR500spg both with two pound P-Line .
Unlike yesterday, a 1” curlytail beat out the mini trout magnet for best lure .
I tried a different retrieve today . After the cast , I would lift the rod tip , and retrieve line as I let the jig drop . I caught several small bluegill this way that were just pecking at the jig on a steady slow retrieve.
Bluegill clear , and smoke glitter were the two productive colors on my 4.6mm Tungsten bead jig in black .
Nineteen little catches including three green sunfish, a tiny LM bass, a warmouth , and a juvenile shellcracker mixed in with the gills .
I had intended on taking my 4’6” Premier UL but grabbed the five footer by mistake.
    Still a short stick .
