That must’ve been what he was thinking. I knew something was off in the way he fought. The good part was that the hook came out extra easy and no damage done. He wasn’t ten inches but he was thick and big built.
Fished a little over two hours after a late, lazy start. I’ve been working on yet another rod and put a coat of finish epoxy before I left. Had to get a little fancy with a diamond wrap on the butt section and I didn’t want something to bump it and knock it out of whack. My office has been way off for several months and I’ve fished other places nowhere near it. All the rain has the river doing different things than in past months so I decided to give it a shot, and I was glad I did. The fish were busy today. I caught at least 35 fish and 15 were good coppernose gills. Really gave the light and ultra light 6’ rods a workout. It also put a smile on my face seeing fish back in an area that was devoid of fish. I also posted a while back that when I found some wildflowers that grew wild on the river that I’d take a pic and share, and todays the day.
.
And this fella wasn’t all that big but on my little UL 6’ he made a big time of it. Really had to wait for him to wear down.
Thanks for coming along and enjoying the ride. Hope to see y’all out soon……Skeet
