    Default Very Busy

I just had twenty minutes of posting turn to zip when my eyes closed for a second. I hate that.

Put in about seven and moved to a shoreline I haven’t worked in a while. A hundred plus yards got me one 6” redbreast. Moved and went blank on a patch of lily pads, and moved again. Started back to where I fished Thursday evening but didn’t do near as well, so I kept moving. I started with my pumpkin and green silli legs jig but had some new stuff to try. First up was the panfish magnet heads with a bison body, I think. While it caught fish I lost confidence in them when the jig came off with the loop still complete, eye not closed. Put that aside and went to some of Victors BG1 heads with some horsefly bodies by Mule fishing tackle. Used a brown head that I painted with the brown looking body. And man, they loved it. My favorite jighead was getting blown around badly and the BG1 at 1 gram was just what I needed. The extra weight helped with controlling the light Varivas braid I’m using. I powder painted some brown and some olive and should have done some I black too. Brown head with the brown horsefly body was a big winner but the olive head and a black body also did well. No barb on the collar it’s best to assemble them with some super glue the night before. They lasted 20 fish or better each before my glue job on my body gave up, I’m new to that. Hooks are sharp and fine and I lost no fish due to them, real good stuff. The bodies are about 2” which gave me pause but the fish sucked em up complete which left me rounding up the hemostats early in the trip.

Now about the fish. Lots of fish caught and one over ten

Lots of nine inch versions and I just stopped taking pic’s after a while. I’m confident that 50+ came to visit. The one I wanted a pic of was the LMB that I fought about 30 seconds before it jumped and threw my jig back, he was at least 3lbs easy. Here’s a few more that were colored up nice. Hope y’all get out soon and try some of those bodies, they did well for me today. Til
    Next time………Skeet
