Thread: Back to the Pond

I went back to the town pond today armed with an old friend.
My 6’ St Croix Avid UL paired with another old favorite, my Shimano Stradic 1000FJ loaded with some 2# P-line Floroclear. The Stradic weighs 7.5 oz . A lightweight in its day .
I used various Trout Magnet bodies on a 1/32 TM head .
I brought four small bass to hand and lost at least that many , three of them jumped and threw the lure .
But I wanted some gills . That’s why I kept changing baits . I used some Slider bodies too .
I’ll be going back , but next trip I need to change tactics.
Think I’m going to try a drop shot with a small Bobby Garland bait or some ice plastics .
I think I need to get close to the bottom without getting mired up the slime and moss that’s down there .
