Gave it a try this morning.
Had thirty minutes to fish while my wife had her PT .
Drizzling, overcast morning, calm wind .
Different lake .
The lake was down about a foot from last couple of weeks .
I took the 5’9” Reddington Butterstick one weight flyrod with a rubber legged spider .
Took me several minutes to catch a fish . The schools of small gills were missing.
I did see a few bass cruising the shallows . They may have contributed to the inactivity of the gills .
I only caught two gills today before I snagged my line on a back cast and lost my entire leader . Good thing I didn’t hook into anything large , I would have probably broken off .
I got to fish about twenty five minutes.
