Some folks fish when the moon is in the right phase. Some fish when the solunar tables say there’s a major feed is working. Those are both credible but now that I’m back to work, I fish when I have the time and make the best of it. This morning was one of those days, and it turned out to be a pretty good day. We caught no bass and a few small crappie, but we were still busy. Nino and I hit our normal Dunkin stop and were heading to out first stop by seven. Most of our fish were small but a few were worth a pic, pretty things that they were. A few of the redbreasts topped 8”, and a couple of Warmouth were respectable too. We tried a few different ways to make em bite and ground out the day throwing spinners. I threw a chartreuse Rooster tail with a single hook and NiNo spent his time with a beetle spin, both catching their share. The crappie didn’t come to visit much, I think only three were caught and two were real small. It was just after 1 when we packed it in and went to visit our better halves, nothing in the box to fillet. A cool start turned to a clear blue sky and enough wind that we knew it was there, blowing our baits around. A pretty day and good company and a few fish that brightened the day. Hope y’all get out soon and get a few, maybe I’ll see you there. Til then…..Skeet
