Whenever I’m rewatching the old classic- Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, I’m often reminded by these very words. As fishermen we sometimes doing just that: Chasing ( looking) what’s beneath the surface, so to speak, when we’re out on our favorite piece of water. Concentrating on the little thump, tict, or bite we so yearning for we forget to look around and see the peace around us. In this particular November morning I happened to have an hour out of my yet still busy life to wet a line in one of my favorite man- made lake and while I couldn’t buy a bite, I’d would gladly pay for it, for only when I’m miles away from the city I’m able to experience this quietness and calmness I so often miss.
