Thread: Hardbaits = Bass

A misty overcast morning at the Town pond .
The fish are going to tear it up .
So , I thought.
Took a couple of 6’ St Croix rods today , my Avid Panfish ULF and my Premier ULF .
Reel were Daiwa , both 1000’s , one a Legalis LT 1000d , the other , a new acquisition , a Fuego LT 1000d .
I’ve liked all of my 1000 LT Daiwa reels so far , but with the Fuego LT, I might be in love . .
It is unbelievably smooth and both paired up perfectly with the six footers .
Six foot may be the best overall rod length. It seems to do fish all lures from soft plastics to hard baits well .
Oh yeah , the catch .
I caught one bass on a 2.5g silver spoon with a forked piece of of a plastic bait I found in the grass where somebody threw it away .
It worked ! My biggest bass as of late . Made my morning !
I threw spoons , spinners and plastics . Even tried float and fly with one of my 1/80 hand tied jigs . But it going got me a couple of tail nippers .
