Yep, that rod looks like a serious surf rod with a Zebco reel. Evidently, she don't set the hook like you, cause with that poll the fish would either be in orbit, or she would be holding the skeleton, and the meat would swimming still, LOL. Great jog, and nice fish for sure....

she actually does really set the hook hard and does it with a very definitive side arm type of thing , she bent that poor hook out several times on larger fish and lost them and had to bend it back into place more than once , i told her to go a bit easier on them as that hook couldnt handle the set up and her at the same time with a fish on the other end
