One of the keys for fishing yellow perch is being able to get the fish off the hook quickly so you can get your bait back down to the fish quickly. This rig is used on Lake St. Clair where there are huge schools of perch and the fishing can be fast and furious. I thought it also looked like it would work great for crappie. I like the use of plastics and the action the bait had tethered with this rig. It is built on 14# line so the crimps probably are less of an issue. I certainly think if someone were to downsize though, crimps would not be the optimum method to use. Especially after hearing your experience. Thank you. I did buy a couple of their custom plastics and plan to pair them with Bob's Jigs, Slabanator, and Bobby Garland plastics. The wonderbread pattern is popular around here.
