Randy the Nissin rod is a very good multi purpose rod indeed. In hand I feel like it can handle fish in the 10 to 20 pound range and I have no reason not to believe…it says on the box: line 4-12lb. However I love using it with 2000 shimano reel and under 6lb test, so truth be told it probably will see more pier (always wanted to fish in Florida), ponds, and lake more than creek hopping…lol. Here’s a few pic of fishes caught in such environments….
