has anybody else
noticed how spawning activity seems to be running later this year. mind you i have had very little time to fish (been married to my medical practice) since covid broke out and have fished very little, but i went with a buddy of mine the 3rd week of may and caught female crappie spawning. that is unheard of in may on this particular lake. my trip last week i found shellcracker bedding independently of the bluegill. normally on that lake the only time i find just shellcracker beds is usually in late march and april. after that there always mixed in with the bluegill. im guessing it was that late, long, deep freeze we had along with a tremendous amount of early spring rain. i know every lake is different this is just what im seeing. im predicting the month of june is gonna be on fire for bluegill.
