I used to use a blood knot, but lately have just been using a twice thru surgeons knot which is much easier.
Who cares if it is slightly larger, it wont be going thru the guides anyway.
Good point. The twice thru is a pretty strong knot, tied carefully and well wetted before drawing tight. Due mostly to fumble fingers I now use it to tie replacement tippet on my fly leaders. Works well and the pans don’t seem to mind.
