Headed for VFW Lake yesterday hoping to get in on some bluegill action. While the size was not there that I wanted the numbers were. Had dozens of fish with some at the 7-8 inch mark...had one decent shell cracker. Also caught my first ever green sunfish out of that lake. Been fishing it many years and never caught any. This could be a good thing....if they grow....or it could be bad if they overpopulate the lake. It is a small lake at only 22 acres. All fish caught on a Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet using a 1 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head with a #10 hook. I used the Eradicator 6’ 7” Slow Taper Special and on that rod fish this size are a lot of fun. Even though it was late evening it was hot and humid down in that basin with nary a breeze blowing.....and horse-flies as big as marbles. Had the place to myself for 3 hours. Life is good!

Regards
