No photos of Bo Derek here, so just move along unless you want to see some Full Moon Gill Getting Action.

At 6:45am this morning she was bright, no not a UFO but the old girl that brings all the boys to the yard....The Moon. Cold, 38 when I woke up and yes I did see snow on the mountain tops way off in the distance. Normal Gill getting weather, shoot no, usually hot enough to have sweat running your c*%^**k. That’s ok, Mother Nature has taken care of her own since the beginning, and I went to the lake on good faith she would not disappoint again this season. I found a couple beds early in the week but decided to search some other areas for pre spawn fish and maybe some new bedding area possibilities. With water temps at 64-67, and the Full Moon, I knew they would be hungry if I could just find them. Early, nothing was hitting my Trout Magnet, Bead Jigs, or even the fancy Japanese minnow plastic thingy....nothing. Well I stopped and got some crickets, I really enjoy watching that float slowly sink from an old shy male Gill who has seen it all, so I switched over to the jumpy 6 legged bait and BAM it was on.

?The Triple Cross 7.3 by Majorcraft is an excellent float rod, loads well and can get them out of the bushes in a hurry. Put some Yellow Braid on it and it will jerk them out of there.

This little sharp deep cut had some current from the wind blowing in it and fish were moving in off the main channel as the water warmed.

An old big one about ripped the rod out of my hand as he sunk the floater and bolted for that tree, but I got him coming my way and told him thanks, I would make him famous! As the water warmed more from the bright overhead sun I picked up the plastics and artificial baits again and started sticking a few more stragglers.

Size: 51.1 KB. They were mainly off points and in sharp trash filled deep pockets, scattered but hungry. I don’t keep Non-keeper clicker as much for Gills, but I released probably 15-18 small guys and girls, one big momma who I know will be bringing the boys into her yard real soon. My keeper clicker said 15, but I released some of the nicer males and kept and even 10. Board pics when I got home with the ruler keeps me honest, and there was plenty of fillets for a good supper.

?Going to cook them tonight, so they may show up on the Cooking Board, just in a little different form. Get out if you can, they are biting.
