I can tell you most assuredly your jig will fall at a faster rate with straight through FC than mono. A lot faster than most folks realize....not many crappie guys fish straight through FC line. For crappie I like to use the polyester line which has a specific gravity of 1.3. Does not fall as fast as FC but falls much faster than nylon....but the line can be a bear to manage.

Actually, I'm talking about water drag,I would think that a 1/64 oz TM would fall slower with a thicker 2' 12lb leader, than a thinner 2' 4lb leader.
