I got out and played with what y'all suggested for a bit today. Still using same equipment I had with 6# Mr Crappie a hand tied buck tail tipped with a mealworm. Most fish were caught 7 seconds deep. Caught close to 30 and returned them all. Later on they started getting picky and wanted it dead stick. Rigged a Quill slip bobber style.
