I may be in luck. I posted this on our SC page regarding Christmas presents:

On a brighter note my new neighbor had told me he used to tournament fish. He saw me outside and told me to come over, he had something for me.
He took me to a table filled with fishing rods and told me to pick out a few.
These were high dollar rods like Falcon, Lews, etc so I just looked. He realized I wasn't comfortable taking one so he said since I jigged spoons to try this one.
He said the company went out of business so it was no longer made. It had never been used he said.
It was made by Cape Fear Rods in NC and it is incredibly light but with a fast tip and plenty of strength to handle a larger fish. It has a hexagonal shaft which I had only seen on the nicer fly rods.
Anyway I can't wait to try it out.
Maybe he's one of Santa's Elves.

I never heard of Cape Fear Rods, but apparently they made very high end salt and freshwater rods.
