Bluegill by themselves or bream (any of several freshwater sunfishes of the genus Lepomis or any of various species of the sunfish family of fishes)? Bream can include warmouth, Bluegill, Shellcracker (Redear Sunfish), Stumpknocker (Spotted Sunfish), Redbreasted Sunfish, and so on. If I want a mess of bream it depends on the time of year. Bedding (spawning) bream is probably the easiest time to get a mess by pulling them off the beds (Even though bream are prolific breeders, I don't like to do this since I don't want to upset the spawning cycle as I can catch a lot of bream at other times of the year or fish not on beds). Ideally I like to go early in the morning during Spring and Summer but I may occasionally go late in the evening. During the Fall it may be cool weather and they may bite all day. Just depends on the time of year usually.
