I'm not a lawyer (although I play one on TV.) That said, I don't think scanning an entire chapter would be OK. It might cause Slab some problems.

Regarding the question of how many times bluegill spawn per year, there was a study done in Texas years ago (Estes 1949) that found that some percentage of the bluegill population in every lake they studied was spawning every month from March through October. The biggest spawn is in the spring but some contingent will be spawning every month in the warm months. In Tennessee, usually the first spawn for northern bluegill is in April (though with the weather we have had the last couple years it's anybody's guess whether they made it that early), while in my experience coppernose don't spawn until May. I know that at our hatchery I see several discrete hatches of fry from May through September.
