But it was Christmas for me today. The day started slow, searching for new territory. While I found a few it was nothing I’ll go back to. Gar and Mudfish showed themselves today for the first time in a while. Even if they’re around I usually don’t get bothered by them much. 2 spots done and about 9:30 I went back to where Ernie and I had some fun last weekend. Should have started there and I would never have moved. Got a few gills, a lot of which I didn’t take pics of. But the stars of the day were the Redbreasted Sunfish, they were on the beds. I wish they grew bigger cuz they just have a strong attitude. Hit, pull the rod tip down, make the drag sound off, and the fish isn’t but 7”. And all of the bigger ones were lit up strong as you can see from the pics. I’m sure I released over 30 of the redbreast alone. About 11 I started to feel hungry, my hunger clock, and knew it was time to go. All released for another day or to finish what they had started. A few pics below of the stars of the day, and the ‘Cracker came from spot 2 on a 6’ deep bank with a white Rooster Tail. Hit it like he owned it! Thanks for coming along, and don’t forget to take care of Mom this weekend......Skeet.
