Very interesting days - I need to practice more patience and be less angry at bass fishermen. Was getting cut off by one guy then another pulls up and starts casting at a submerged knoll that I was getting ready to troll over. Almost like they planed it... So I leave - angry - only to stumble over a new spot that was holding big post & pre spawn males. Found 2 small REs too.

Great looking fish! Yes, the run and gun approach is live and well in Arkansas too. Doesn’t matter where you go probably. I have to tell myself to calm down because they won’t be there longer than a few minutes anyway.

Nice fish!
I can’t tell you how many times I find a new hot spot, as I am leaving a known spot.

Great find on the new spot! Excellent fish!

I need to elaborate a little on wants going on with my style of fishing at LP and what happened today.
Yesterday, fishing in the fog, I lost 6 or 7 jigs - two were big fish hook ups. Today I lost 9 jigs again two losses were very big fish.
So early this morning I was cranky - dog biting cranky - got cut off on the freeway - and it was supposed to rain. Got out to the flats only to run into the same bass idiots I had run into the day before. They did not want me to troll this submerged road bed next to the flats I have been fishing. So I had to finally moved on.
It wasn't an easy couple of hours, was catching lots of fish (kept 20 today), but they weren't what I was looking for. Sacrificed 9 more jigs - the frustration level was peaking. Several times I felt like heading in but it didn't feel right. Set up my last troll - down to only 3 rods rigged - put 2 rods out. First rod picked up a hitchhiker (fish picks up the bait and swims with the boat). You can't really tell if there is a fish on or not and usually it's a small fish. This one fought like it was - turned out it wasn't. While bringing in CNBG #1 my 2nd rod goes off. #1 is almost to the boat - still haven't seen it. Looked at the depthfinder - 22' & clear bottom so I pegged rod #1 in the holder (Dorado style) and began the fight on #2 rod. Landed #2 CNBG - cast back rod #3 - while we were still moving. Reached to bring in #1 CNBG and rod #3 went off like a screaming Wahoo run. Landed #3 CNBG - another toad - and finally brought in #1 CNBG. Unfortunately #1 had swallowed the jig - deep. I was glad that I stuck it out and figured on that note it was time to go home.

Very nice fish. Yea I love the guys that think it is all about them.
Beautiful fish! Congrats on a productive day.
Wonderful fish, especially the bright green faces. And don’t beat yourself up too much. I have folks do dumb stuff to me all the time when I troll. Like I readjust 3 times to avoid them and they readjust to intercept. Or the guy that bird dogs you for 6 or 7 trips in a row like you had promised him a porterhouse steak. Move to a place a mile away and here he comes. Glad you got out, hope you go again today. I’ll be dodging idiots most of the day.
