I tried some 4 lb line this past winter and had a tangled , kinked mess in 2 hours.
Glad my water is stained 99 % of the time , 10 lb line takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

As Alphahawk says, it's just a matter of using it and understanding what UL tackle can do.

After you get used to using 2-4# test anything above feels like casting rope, lures are so much easier to work on light line.
