They're definitely bluegills. They're not all colored alike. This coloration is pretty typical for Florida gills like these.Quote:

The dark color comes from the tannic acid in the water which looks a lot like a dark iced tea. Some fish color up in response to it while others seem to be unaffected. If you look at the ones Ledhed catches in CA you’ll see some similarities and differences between the two locations a few thousand miles apart.
