Fishing waters around here that are not overly snaggy, I've made the switch to braid from Trilene XL. So now, for the past 4 seasons, I've been using Fireline Crystal 2# test for my main line, with a 4' fluorocarbon leader of 4# test. The fireline lasts and lasts and castability is exceptional as well. Cuts through the water nice for trolling, with little bow in the line. Sensitivity is excellent.

I use the fluorocarbon leader for abrasion resistance and as a shock absorber. Casting & trolling 1/16 - 1/8 oz. jigs. I'll never go back to straight mono now!
