Well my week of fishing is over. I arrived on station at Pickwick at 9:00 a.m. The fish had moved up into 8 feet of water....still on the bottom. I used a UL Major Craft 6' 7" FineTail Banshee Area Trout Rod. Had a Daiwa Certate 2004 CH reel spooled with SOS 2# test line. Used a 4 foot section of Phantom fluro leader and a #6 panfish hook with a Bison colored Trout Magnet to make up my drop shot rig using a 1/8 ounce drop shot weight.....I cut one of the snake in da brush 1/4 ounce weights in half. I had a great 4 hours of fun. They hit this setup hard. The Gills are not quite the length I am after but I will find the bigger ones sooner or later. Water temp was 84 degrees. The good news is the 100 plus fish I caught were fat...chunky fish.....giving a good fight. The boat motor needs servicing and the trailer bearings need repacking....so I'm going to take a week off. Life is good!
Regards
