Those are some phenomenal gills! Wish we could grow them to that size.

Nice bluegill! Question, those are Copper Nose gills, in Tennessee?? I'm on Lake Barkley in KY, and I've never caught a copper nose bluegill. I've caught some monster shellcracker!
They are not common in our lakes. Somehow they got into Laurel Hill Lake......a TWRA lake. They were not stocked. All the data says TN is not a good place for them to be....too cold. Here is pic of first one I ever caught out of Laurel Hill back in 2012. Time will tell how they do in there. They may be in other lakes but I have never caught any out of KY Lake...Pickwick Lake....Center Hill....Dale Hollow.....JPP. The northern strain do very well in Laurel Hill......also pic of northern strain out of Laurel Hill....or just what we call bluegill.

Nice lookin fish, thanks for sharing
Nice job. Used to fish Laurel Hill with my Dad and one of his buddies back in the 70's.
Nice catch and I've never been able to figure how fire ants can crawl up your leg and the all of a sudden start biting at the same time!

From what I have read there is one ant that gives the signal to bite. I know that my leg below my knee was on fire all at once. I came out of clothes...shoes.....should have jumped in the water....LOL. I went for a skin cancer check up yesterday and evidently my dermatologist must have seen the bites before....when he was checking my legs he said "You stepped into some fire ants didn't you".
