I've used both hooks and caught thousands of Gills....shellcracker....crappie....smallmouth.... ....with those hooks. I've never had any problems with them. One thing I can tell you about testing out a lure...tip it...don't tip it. One trip does not make for a good test. Those hooks were designed to catch a trout in the upper lip....and it does that 90 percent of the time. Over the years many have learned that the Trout Magnet is not only good for trout but many other specie also. I have heavier round head jigs with an #8 hook to fish the Trout Magnet in deeper water...1/24....1/16......3/32. If it is 10 feet or less in depth I use the 1/64 ounce Trout Magnet hooks.
