Big gills on man made lakes
I have, for years, pondered why i caught big ( 1 lber's +) on some lakes (Murray, Sante Cooper) but can't on others (Wateree in SC...Wylee in SC...Norman in NC...Lay in AL...Martin in AL.... Mitchell in AL...Jordan in AL...) Seems on these lake a hand size gill is reason to celebrate. I have never given it a fair shake past the spawn but this year I have almost sold out to get on some big gills. I have struck out so far. Plenty of hand size but none of the big ones I am looking for. It is just amazing to me that in a lake the size of the ones I have mentioned that there are not some bruiser gills. Anyone target these whoppers? If so any advice would be appriciated.
