    Default A few good ones

A buddy and I took our sons for an afternoon of cricket drowning. We caught as many as we wanted until my son Jacob was ready to eat dinner. It seems like the redear here in central Arkansas are about to do their thing. We kept 33 good bluegill and found some stud redear (for Lake Conway standards). Four of the redear were over 10" and one was over 11". We all had a great day!

Man those things are fun to catch on an ultra lite! One of my earliest memories is catching bream on a cane pole or spider man pole

Looking forward to catching a few like that, which brings up a question.
Yesterday I was slow trolling the edges of weeds when I had a solid hit
I thought was a crappie by the way it hit. But it fought harder than a crappie,
and was some type of blugill looking fish. All dark coloration with a slight purple
hue to it and no other color anywhere. Caught it on the St Johns west of Melbourne.
