Thanks for the video, I was thinking about starting a thread here, because I witnessed the same thing this past week.
I went to a local pond that is known for big large mouth, we had gotten a lot of rain the day before and it was misting while I fished plus a cold front had just moved in, I caught a couple med size bass, but decided I would sit along the bank and cast a tube for the bass, well as the sun peeked in and out I could clearly see a approx. 3ft by 3ft area that had been cleaned of vegetation that area was about 6 to 8 ft off the bank. When the sun peeked out I could see a large Gill circling the area, I had assumed she was protecting the nest? she had no interest in my 4.5" bass tube, so I thought I would try a small white curley tail crappie jig I had, all the time I could watch her reaction, first couple cast she nipped at it a bit, then I guess she realized it wasnt food and more of a predator, soon she would actually push the jig away from the nest with her nose, she did this a few times in a row. I was so amused by it I called My buddy over to watch, He said I ahev a small hook, and I will get you a red worm, so with that she promptly ate the worm, she was a hand size Gill maybe 2"to 2.5" thick. I released her right away after a quick pic, although I love fryed gills.
