    I only fillet. Won't usually keep anything smaller than 7 - 8" unless it's hooked deep and will die anyway, but they fillet fine at that size - just more work to do to get enough for the family.

    filet em, bake em, and mix them with some red beans and rice with a hush puppy and a green onion. yummmm!

    I never go by size,if I feel like filleting small ones,the go in the cooler also

    I filleted a bunch today between 7.25"- 9". This is a great video of a bluegill legend on Kentucky Lake. At the 5:15 mark (video is only 6.5 mins), he cleans a few. This is about how I do it as well.
