I had the plans of taking the wife and boy to chase some gills on Friday afternoon, then afterwards, me and a buddy were going to set out some yo-yo's and limblines on a private lake in Scott. We arrived at the boat launch around 4:45. I thought why not throw out a few crickets and see if the gills are here? Sure enough they were. We started catching a few, then my buddy and his wife got home, and brought thier 3 year old down. I asked if he wanted to catch a fish, and he said yes. Little did I know, I helped Mr. C catch his 1st fish, and 2nd, and 3rd. Then his dad took over assisting Mr. C, and I was the designated hook remover since I had the only forecepts on site. Joseph (a.k.a. Catfish) and Carter caught over 3/4 of these fish, and I had the time of my life baiting hooks and removing fish.
We never launched the boat until it was time to go and set lines and yo-yo's. Come to find out I have a broke plug wire, and need to try to fix that before the boat will be of much assistance. But that's another story for another time.![]()
Sounds like a great trip.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Always nice to get the younguns on the first fish . It don't look like you needed a boat for the gills. Nice pictures!
That's good fun there.
Nice..!!!
