This am I fished a lake in the float tube . I didn't think to check the water temp ,but I have good waders and was comfortable.
The bite was anything but hot. I kept 14 for the table and returned a few of the larger males.
I and the wife found an active spawning area on the new moon in Iowa a while back, but the cold snap has set that back and I doubt if this full moon will start them here.
Most I got were deeper in 14' to 16' of water on tipped jigs . The larger profile of the legged jig done best .
As I got to shore for taking out I seen a few bluegill that had followed me to shore. I flipped the legged jig out a ways and hooked the largest male of the day . I repeated that again releasing both . Those Cocoon fit over glasses sure help . I could barely see my jig at 10' on the bottom in the clear water.
I enjoyed that lake so much that I tried another .Should have left well enough alone. I only caught one keeper size in a hour and left it there.
Hope you get a chance to get a tug on a line Name: calm morning fishing 011 (Copy).JPG
