    ANY TRIED THIS WITH LIVE BAIT ? JUST WONDERED IF SAY DOWN A DEEP LEVEE WOULD THIS PRODUCE ?

    I haven't ever tried spider rigging for any species, but my dad and I would sometimes salvage slow days by trolling 1/32 ounce spin beetles on shallow flats. Can't imagine why deep rigging wouldn't work.

    Yes, but we catch gills while spider rigging for crappie. Typically we use kalin's triple threat 2" shads jigs only and shinee hinees tipped with minnows. Gills seems to like them both. Put a piece of crawler on and I bet it would catch even more of them.

    I know there are some guys who murder redears on KY Lake on deep shellbeds by spider rigging with bluegill bugs. They just keep their cards against their vests when asked about tactics. I heard this from a friend who heard it from his cousin's brother-in-law's step grandfather's neighbor's lawn guy.
