I am somewhat new to this but where I fish I really feel that 2# test is pretty light. Are you using this light line to cast very small baits? Smallest I use is 6# casting mostly 1/16 oz baits.

It's not so much the pounds but brands I'm interested in. If they made 2lbs Mr. Crappie line I'd use it but they don't. I ended up at my local bait shop and the clerk even said he's been selling 2lb line like crazy and suggested Stren Hi-Vis gold. Has a .006 Dia.(.15mm) sooo I will give it a try.

My main lure is a Trout Magnet....1/64 ounce. But I will sometimes use 1/16 and 1/32...and on occasion 1/8 ounce. I lose very few fish. Now the places I fish are not filled with logs and branches. But on occasion I will get wrapped up in some limbs....buck bushes.....but more often than not if I give free line they work themselves out. All of these 2# test lines today are incredibly strong. Fishing light catches me a lot more fish...not to mention I have a whole lot of fun!

I agree with Alphahawk and use the TM and similar baits a lot. I use more 4# than 2#, but I do use the 2. (I'm far more worried about losing jigs than I am about losing fish.)
On a related note, I picked up a copy of Bassmaster magazine recently. There's an article about Aaron Martens and his dropshot methods. He talks about how he was using 5# line -- in a bass tournament -- but wished he had been using 3# because he knew he could have gotten more bites on the 3.
Seaguar 4# for me. I caught an 8# LM on it last year and have caught 9# steelhead. It's thin and it's tuff.
XL Trilene or Suffix - 2-4# as 3' leader to Power Pro braid -10#
I don't get the line twist and infernal reel nests with braid as I do with mono or fc and it casts better using 1/32 and 1/16 oz jigs.
We stumbled on a line a few years ago made in Germany. Just about the best small poundage line I have found. Kinda pricey, I think it is called Damel Techtan. Great stuff. But again pricey. I like the 5lb spools.
The tectan stuff is a relative of power pro some say??????????????????????
