It wouldn't be hard to make your own. Jann's Netcraft has all the components you'd need to build just about any kind of in-line spinner:

I've been reading all the good posts and thought maybe someone would have an idea where to find a lure I used back in the 50's. It was called a 'guinea tail'. It was an in-line spinner that had propeller type spinners that were painted red and white. The summer I turned twelve I worked hauling hay and saved up enough money to buy a fly rod (bamboo) with an automatic reel. My uncle loved to fish the small rivers and creeks where we lived and we used to wade and fish with poppers etc. When it got slow we would tie on one of the really small spinners and wear out the bluegill, sunfish and occasionally a bass or two. I was looking at the thread about favorite panfish baits and remembered this lure. The last one I saw was in the early 70's on lake Eufaula, Al. A guy was fishing for bass and had one about 7 or 8 inches long (they came in sizes from about an inch up) with a telescoping rod about 9 feet long with a couple of feet of line. He was running the thing across the top of the water arount stand-up trees and it made a wake about like a 25hp outboard. Anyway, if anyone knows if they are still made somewhere I would appreciate it. I googled and couldn't find anything.

Hoosierdaddy, that's the one. Are they still made anywhere?
By the way, I'm a big Colt's fan. Been one since I was a kid and Johnny U was the QB. Since Peyton is there it is even better for me. I watched him play from the time he was a freshman. Good guy. We went to the last season game. Wasn't so good but I still enjoyed it.

Hey Lag, glad to hear you're a Colts/Peyton fan. I always liked Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr and some of those old guys, too. When I was a kid, I didn't think we'd ever get a football team in Indiana. Now we got one that we can be proud of...both on and off the field. The last two years have been great. Peyton and the Colts got the ring last year and this year Eli gets one by beatin' the Pats. I was also a huge fan of the '72 Dolphins and was glad to see their record remain unbroken.
I'll send you a PM about the lures.

I gotta say I have never seen that lure before...
That looks like the one I my dad left me. He used it on large mouth in the 40's and 50's. Mine is 6 inchs long and is called a Tandim Spinner, he got it from Herters. He used a 12 ft. bamboo bait rod, and would reach out over the brush along the bank and drop it in a hole and the blades would turn going down and turn the other direction on the way up, 2 or 3 up and down and he would pull out a bass. That is how he would get dinner for the family. Not much c&r in those days. Love Crappie.com. I am trying to find some pic's of our trips to lake Powel in the 70's, lots of fish over 2 lbs. and then the Strippers ate all the Shad and we lost most of the Crappie.
