brim will attack a bare #10 or smaller hook baited with a chartreuse crappie nibble if they are anywhere near the bait when it hits the water. Bluegills is what we call brim here and they and a lot of the other sunfish love the taste of crappie nibbles.

I myself am a firm believe in the use of attractants to catch fish.

I stated out using liver for catfish and then found out about Dr. Juice back in the early 1980's. He started the use of attractants from what I can see. But I would be that some North American Indians would argue with me on this point. I'll bet they used and knew about the importance of scents long before the Dr did his research.
