My Dad kept red worms in an old fridge in the yard under a shade tree. Always plenty of worms. I'm not saying some didn't die from the heat but he was constantly giving worms away we had so many and that was in North Louisiana. Kept them in manure and fed layer pellets. Seems like I remember that he proped the lid open a couple of inches in the summer.
