Default High praise for the bluegill

I recently read Lefty Kreh's autobiography. Lefty is a very famous fly fisherman. He has fished all over the world for all kinds of fish but still loves the bluegill.

In one story, he had just come back from a tarpon trip and tracked down a friend to see if he could arrange a bluegill trip. Lefty asked, "When can we go to that bluegill pond you were telling me about?"

The other guy (who did not fish) just stared at Lefty for a few seconds and finally said, "Lefty, you just got back from a trip where you were catching 100# tarpon, and you're interested in bluegill that might hit a pound?"

Lefty replied, "If you were a fisherman, you wouldn't ask that question!"

haha love it, bluegills are still one of my favorite fish to catch.
I only fish on days that start with T, like tuesday, thursday, today, and tomorrow.

seems as though my fishing interests have gone trough a cycle as i now find myself heading back to where i started.....with bluegills. if the rain and high water ever end up north, i will be out with a lightweight outfit, a few pockets stuffed with essentials and a pair of waders. light is right.

Going after the big bull bluegills is just as challenging as finding the biggest bass in the lake! Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
I love HIM because HE first loved me.
