for bluegills i sometimes use 1/100-1/64oz tied jigs or jig heads with small power bait or other plastic body.sometimes small flies,or just a aberdeen style hook with a plastic bait on 5 pound power pro with a 5'0 or 4'8 UL rod

Stay on pretty good for me. Sometime even catch more than one fish from the same cricket. run hook through the butt and come out right under the crickets chin. Worms are messy and ya get ya hands all black, not a big deal but i would rather not have to wipe my hands on my pants all the time. I use redworms for crakcers cause they hit em better than crickets, but if not for that im either using crickets or if you can get em I also like grass shrimp (this may be a southern thing, dont know if you can get em all over)

The setup you pictured is great for crappie, but for Bluegills I would downsize. You will get more bites and still catch the bulls. Try a 1/64 or 1/32 jig or just a #8 hook with a wax worm on it.

A "sticky" thread is an important or popular thread that is permanently "stuck" to the top of the page. It actually says "sticky" next to it. So, no matter what page of the forum you're on, the sticky threads for that forum will be there at the top.

For example, the Bream forum has several "sticky" threads: one on big fish, one on posting pics, one on rods and a couple on favorite baits or lures. If you're on page 1 of the Bream forum you will see those sticky threads at the top of the page. If you go to page 8 of the Bream forum, those same sticky threads will be at the top of that page.

These are my two favorite rigs for bluegills, sunfish and crappie, from ice out to freeze up. 1/80 or 1/64 oz jigs. In clear shallow water I rig them under clear bobbers. In dirty or deeper water I use a stick bobber. And when they are really deep, I use no bobber. Some times have to increase the jig weight if there is a wind, otherwise everything else stays the same.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
