Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always called the fish in the first pic a shellcracker, also heard em called redbellies. What do you guys say?

    Not a shellcracker. It's a bluegill. Here's a male redear

Good fish and good pics, Chaunc, and I caught a few this past spring on Woods like that-yummy- but I was wondering about the one with the bright orange belly. I've heard em called everything under the sun but don't know the correct name.

9" Redear and 9" Bluegill, wife caught most of the 68, mostly Redear that day. Wonderful memory, Beautiful day, we were the only people there. Got home and scaled them then filleted them leaving the skin and rib cage on. Gee, I think there are still some in the freezer. Think I will go to the freezer, thanks for helping me decide on supper.

Chaunc - you know when you got a Big Blue when you can lip em those are some nice fish. Ill have to post some pics of the blues we have in our pond, 11-12 inches and some pushing 1.5lbs and they are not highbreds so its a good feeling knowing you can "grow" big blues naturally.
And you know if you got a good Redear population if your fish dont have worms.
