Default Readying for first hardwater outing....

:DChanged the line of one of my jig poles this afternoon. Going to try Berkley fireline 2#. Not sure if I am going to like the braid line. I have been using Tectan 3# it catches a lot of gills but can't seem to hold up to the pressure put on it by the gills. Have to slide the fish onto the ice if you pick them up to high the line breaks..Not much for streching. But great for caching. Tight lines Rich

Tectan is a "pre-stretched" line (like Stren Magnathin), so it has almost no stretch. Also, 3# Tectan is VERY thin. It's the same diameter as 7X fly tippet (which is rarely used by most fly guys). You might consider jumping up to the 5# Tectan.
