Temple Forks has a 6' UL spinning rod made from a 2wt fly rod blank. It has a soft action that is GREAT for tossing really light baits. It's $99.

I have one and will probably buy another.

5 1/2 foot St Croix will handle those light jigs very well. And i also like the sharpshooter rods from B&M.

I think that any rod with light action and the right size guides would do the trick. The bigger the lower guides the better you will be, small guides constrict the line too fast and decrease the casting distance. Premium light line would also be an asset. Wally has a Shakespeare Micro Graphite for under $20 you should look at, I think it's 4'6" or 5' and it's 1 piece.

You might want to check out the BnM 7' Sam Heaton Super Sensitive coupled with a Shimano Sedona 500 series reel with 2-4# test line.

2lb. line is going to help you out a ton with the tiny jigs.

    X2

I can't use it much around the brush I fish but it helps a lot with the littles.
