After catching either bluegill or crappie what do you do with them if you are bringing them home to the pan?
Keep them alive in a live well or throw then right in the cooler that is half full of ice?

During cooler weather I let 'em swim around in a large cooler. That way it's easy to cull fish if/when necessary. And...if the catch turns out skinny it's easy to release the few you have. During hot weather I keep froze gatorade bottles in the freezer in my barn and line the bottom of the cooler with 'em (that's about 4" of ice in the bottom of the cooler). I just toss 'em in and close the lid. The fish are nice and cool when I get 'em back out of the cooler to clean 'em when I get home. Those froze bottles keep me from making additional stops getting to the lake and all I have to do when I get home is rinse them off and back in the freezer they go.![]()
I've become a fan of the fish basket here lately. Then they get thrown on ice for the trip home.
ditto the people who im testing for the fish pics will be in a basket

Mine has a floating lid as well. And I put a long chunk of rope on it so I can tie it off to a stick or rock...
