Okay, I'll give ya the scoop that a friend of mine schooled me with. I can usually catch fish in a glass o water, but Bill put to shame this day. St Johns river, within a mile of the Whitehair Bridge on hiway44 just west of Deland(22yrs). He pulls up into a downfallen tree with hyacinth all gathered in the branches. No depth finder, but around 8 to 10 fow. He pulls a cane pole with a piece of steel wire bent into a hook and proceeds to pull open about a dozen holes in the mat of hyacinth. Then grabs a 10' telescopic jiggin rod, fairly stiff, loaded with braid and a 1/16 jig with a 1.5" chartreuse curltail. I caught one and lost about a dozen jigs - no braid - while he loded the bucket with about a dozen FAT warmouth in short order. Throwbacks too. He said anywhere you can find a tree down in deeper water you'll find warmouth, they like hangin around the wood. Hope this works for y'all, it did for me on several trips after the "school" day. Love the colors on those fish.

I fish for those fellas a good bit in the swamps. they like to get under anything and ambush prey. Usually use a white grub on a beetle spin or roadrunner.

I used to catch them when I lived in Ohio. Good report. Thank you for the memories. Go Browns!
