Question How do you catch Redear?

What is the general method during spawn, prespawn and postspawn in catching redear? I have never specifically fished for them. I just need some info on how you guys catch them this time of the year. How deep? What bait or lures? Float? etc.
    Thanks,
    Bassky

When they are on the spawning beds in shallow water, I fish for them basically like fishing for bluegills ( bobber and worms). The red ears seem to prefer red worms over other baits. I catch them a year long fishing on the bottom with out a bobber in deep water adjacent or very close to their known spawning areas. Even when they are on the beds it seems like I catch the bigger ones bottom fishing further out from the beds.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I will need to give this a try this year. Never tried bottom fishing for them after the spawn.
