Does anyone else feel like they're sittin' around, twiddlin' their thumbs, not knowin' what to do, waitin' on water temps to get right? I mean, I don't know if I can wait any longer... I sit and look at a television screen with my girlfriend, supposed to be watchin' a movie, but instead I'm day dreamin' of a pair of jigs danglin' under a float. I see the float gettin' yanked under when sittin' in class. For the love of craps, WHEN WILL IT BE HERE???

    Default Hey Oklahomans

This weekend's wind discouraged me from going out though it was in the mid to high 70's Saturday. I took advantage of having Saturday to myself to finish installing the wiring harness for the electric starter I just installed in my 1960 Johnson 18HP and put a new water pump in my 1989 Johnson 15HP.

I'm ready now and can't wait to get out there!!

I'm thinking the slough at the confluence of the Illinois/Arkansas river near Webbers Falls will be a good bet. I really like that area becasue you never know what you will catch, i.e. stripers, walleyes, sand bass, crappie, catfish, etc.

I know EXACTLY what you mean Jiggy. Every year I do it. That first early really warm front and I start thinking spawn. The water temp will be getting close and then all hell breaks loose and we get the snow or those cold fronts with night temps in the 30's. A few days of 60's or 70's followed by a few of 40's and 50's.I hate this time of year as it drives me nuts.

Tuesday the 7th, it starts a warming trend, up in the 60's. Wednesday its up in the mid 70's, Thursday the 9th which is a full moon, the temperature rises into the high 70's.

If you wanna catch crappie, they will be in the shallows that afternoon. Good luck!
