Well Reaper did a pretty darn good job of explaining the GAP insurance issue so not much I need to say there other than to purchase it if you know you're going to be upside down. The dealership will often try to sell you on this, my advice would be to check with your insurance agent as well and see who offers it to you at a cheaper premium because most auto insurance companies will offer it on your auto policy.

Now now reaper..."poor" and "rich" is all in how you look at it! Your healthy enough to get out and snag a few slabs every now and then, you have a wonderful family that you've spoken about...in my book i'd say you're a pretty rich fella!:D
